INFERRED SMILES - ARCH ONE photo and sculpture by Darren Port
This amazing item was constructed by Darren as the entranceway for the Whitney Museum of Art for their Jean-Michel Basquiat retrospective and was then displayed at the Dance Macabre Gothic Gift Emporium in NY.
The full arch is to the right; the left shows a close up. The arch is 9 ½ feet tall and 8 feet wide.

Send us your pictures!
Hey Boys & Ghouls- WWW.GALAVANT.COM wants to put pictures of your
skeleton on the web! On our website in the "Art Gallery" section we showcase
photos that customers have sent in of their skeletons. If you would like us
to display your photo
just send it in (important note: we don't send them back, so send a copy NOT
the original) along with your name, address, phone # and e-mail taped to the
back. Please let us know who you want us to "credit" for the picture. For
example, if your name is Bill Smith but you want us to say "photo by G-Bone"
or simply "photo by Bill" let us know. Also, send a BRIEF one sentence
description of what is going on in the picture, for example "Skeleton
guarding tomb at Halloween Party" or "Skeleton used in THE ANGRY BEAST, a
film by Bill Smith" or "Dr Smith and his staff with their skeleton". We may
or may not use the description but we always credit the photographer.
A FEW TIPS:
1) Make the skeleton the focus of the picture. If we have to try to figure
out where the skeleton is in the picture (I think I see it under the leaves)
than we probably won't use it on the site.
2) You (or other people) can be in the photo but please wear clothes. It is
wonderful that so many of my customers feel so, um, comfortable with their
bodies but we like to keep the site suitable for all visitors. Also, it is
your responsibility to get model releases if applicable.
3) Only send in photos that you have taken. You must be the photographer of
the photo you send in. Also, do not send in copyrighted photos, or if you do,
be sure to send a release or usage letter.
4) Only send in photos of skeletons you purchased from us.
5) Yes, you can use PhotoShop or another program to "spice up" your photo.
6) We prefer hard copies (actual photographic prints) but you can e-mail
your photo in JPEG form if absolutely necessary. If you do, be sure to also
send all the information we mentioned above.
7) Remember: do not send one of a kind photos. We DO NOT return the photos.
