Q: Are the skeletons medical quality?
A: Yes, as a matter of fact more than half of our customers are doctors and medical students. One doctor told us that he didn't even need a skeleton but as a GP his patients expected him to have one in his office!
Q: How long does shipping take?
A: From the time we receive your order it takes about 10 business days to get the skeleton to your door. If you pay by check instead of money order or credit card add another 5 days. In August, September, and October add another 2-5 days (it is our busy season). All orders are filled in the order they arrive (or in the case of checks, the order payment clears).
Q: Do you offer rush shipping?
A: Sorry, no.
Q: I live in the NY/ NJ area. Can I come and pick up my skeleton?
A: No. We don't have a retail location, we work from our warehouse. We are internet retailers and, with the exception of when we appear at shows to sell our merchandise, don't have physical interaction with our customers. If you need to touch and feel, smell, taste the merchandise before you buy it, we are NOT the company for you.
Q: Can I paint the skeleton?
A: Yes, the skeletons can be painted and can also be stained for an "antique" look.
Q: Is the stand included?
A: On 1st class skeletons only.
Q: Can I hang my skeleton?
A: Yes, the majority of our customers hang the skeleton from the hook on his head. For many years this was the standard display method.
Q: Do you offer quantity discounts?
A: Sorry, no.
Q: What company manufactures the skeletons?
A: Because we sell the skeletons below the suggested retail price I am contractually prohibited from revealing the manufacturer.
Q: Are the skeletons sturdy?
A: Yes, we have knocked ours over more than once without any damage and I have seen them fall down steps, be thrown out windows, hung from trees, and strapped to truck grills without harm! However we do recommend that you treat your skeleton with care, they are not indestructible.
Q: Can I hook it up to strings and work it like a marionette like Vincent Price did in The House On Haunted Hill?
A: Well, we've tried to do this and was unsuccessful. However, we have seen Italian plays that used life-size marionettes so we suppose if you were skilled enough to work one of those you could do the same with a skeleton.
Q: Where can I get a REAL human skeleton?
A: Up until the late 1970's all real human skeletons came from India. Recently India passed legislation banning the export of human skeletons and the human skeleton trade was thrown into a tizzy. Prices skyrocketed and man made skeletons took over the market. Some medical supply companies still carry real human skeletons. When last we looked prices began at about $5,000.00 for a quality specimen.
Q: Do you ship outside the US?
A: Sorry, but no! Shipping life size skeletons outside the US is too time consuming and difficult. We wish we could do it but at this time we do not.
Q: Do I need to assemble the skeleton when it arrives?
A: When your skeleton arrives it will be in several pieces. All you need to do is attach the legs using two included bolts and, if you purchased a stand, attach the rod to the base. It literally takes less than 2 minutes.
Q: How do I clean the skeleton?
A: We like to use Armor-All but have also been told that spray silicon works well.
Q: I’m buying for my school/ club/ organization. Can you bill me?
A: Sorry, no. We no longer invoice or bill. Payment needs to be made when the order is placed.
Q: Can I call you to discuss my order?
A: No, we only communicate through e-mail. This helps avoid confusion such as “Well that other guy I spoke to said it would be here in 2 days…”
